It all started with an idea.

I’m Loren, founder of the Health & Safety Dashboard. The idea of a health and safety dashboard for workers emerged as an idea to pitch to SafeCare BC’s “Safety Den” competition. The competition is like Dragon’s Den or Shark Tank but with a focus on health and safety innovations. The concept immediately gained interest from the organizers and I was invited to pitch a prototype as a finalist.

In May 2024, I pitched the prototype…and won! The Dashboard also earned the People’s Choice Award for the best innovation across all of the contestants. Encouraged by the industries enthusiasm for the Dashboard, I decided to invested in its development. I collaborated with a software development partner, ZAPTA Technologies, over July to November of 2024. By January 2025, we launched our first pilot.

The Problem We Solve

The Iceberg of Ignorance suggests senior management is aware of only 4% of workplace issues, while frontline staff know 100%. Many safety concerns go unreported due to fear, inaction, or cumbersome processes, often leading to costly workplace injuries.

I asked: How might we surface these hidden risks before they escalate to injury?

The solution: Make safety reporting anonymous, easy, instant, and visible.

The Health & Safety Dashboard streamlines reporting and enhances transparency, empowering frontline staff and enabling organizations to proactively address health and safety concerns before they lead to injury.

We’re just getting started and excited to bring this solution to more workplaces, making them safer for everyone…one report at a time.
